70's Fashion Displaying my Running Legs
1. What made you start running? I was overweight. I signed up for a 4km fun run.
I was excited to be able to average 6:00min/km on that ‘hilly’ run from Perry Lakes
along Oceania Drive to the ‘surf’ at City Beach in Perth. I was once 25km heavier than I am now.
I don’t have many photos because that was before mobile phones had cameras and I’ve moved
house and I don’t know where the photo albums are.

2. How did you become a member of RCR? I ran the Comrades Down Run in 2012 when I lived in Perth.
I met Digger he told me to let him know when I got to Brisbane when I was preparing for the Up Run.
One of my first sessions was when we had breakfast in the carpark afterwards.
I’ve been coming every since.

If I can get there Wednesday Night Hilly Hump Day Walk. I’m at QSAC on Tuesday and
Thursday but I either have my own hard track session or I am there with Cale who is
training with Coach Bill.

8. Favourite place to run?
Practically anywhere, Trails, Brisbane River and Toohey Forest, you can make it long there are
heaps of single trail and numerous different hills for hill repeat sessions.
It’s also easy to park and run from the Davies Bakery where a coffee and a Cinnamon Scroll
is a real treat after any session.
When I run there at night with friends we have heard and then seen Koala’s growling.
